{ portrait } a new friend
Boarding the bus at the intersection of Westwood and Wilshire, preparing myself to travel three and a half hours back to San Diego by bus, metro, and train, I asked the man waiting behind me how much the bus fare was.
He didn’t know.
But he did end up sitting next to me on board the bus, as I asked him about what it was like to be a reporter for The Korea Daily (he just spent four days in Las Vegas covering a food convention), what mandatory military service is like (jail was his answer), and if he had read Les Miserables (only the abridged version– understandable, the book’s almost 1300 pages!).
I captured a few shots of him right before I ran off to catch the Metro– hence the oh-so-beautiful background ;)

You’re such an easy person to get along with Sui :)
What an interesting person to meet! You asked some good questions.
I love the first photo.

You really are, Sui (piggy-backing on Christine). I really like the lighting in these photos.
